Delrisha White is an educator, consultant, writer, and advocate for youth. Her leadership and activism stem from her experiences growing up as a Bay Area native, strengthened by her family’s experience with addiction and the justice and child welfare systems. She finds her purpose in helping young people from similar communities, working through their traumas so they can lead and create the communities they see for themselves. Described by Dr. Cornel West as “a powerful, intellectual, moral and spiritual force for good,” she is a modern-day Renaissance woman tackling issues on health disparities, media, social politics, and justice.
Delrisha has consulted and worked with a range of organizations, including Teach for America, Ogilvy & Mather, and the Oracle Corporation. She has facilitated and led workshops for colleges including Bennett College, Harvard University, and San Jose State University. Additionally, she has partnered with government agencies, corporations like Microsoft, and nonprofits across the country. Delrisha’s work, which has been published both domestically and internationally, can be found in publications at Harvard University, New York University, and in the Huffington Post and Belle magazine. Her work has been featured on local and national media including UNCF, Black Entertainment Television (BET), CSPAN, and NBC.
Delrisha holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies with a minor in global studies from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. An avid traveller, Delrisha has visited countries in Europe, Asia, Central America and French Polynesia. In 2019, she earned her master’s degree in education policy and management at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
