Kimberly Nevels is the Chicago Program Center Director for HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO). Region V covers the six Great Lakes states of IL, IN, MI, MN, OH and WI. From December 2016 to June 2018, Kim served as the Acting Regional Director of Region V. Kim supervises the staff responsible for the enforcement of the federal Fair Housing Act, the investigation of complaints filed under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, monitors recipients of HUD funds to ensure they are complying with their civil rights obligations and is the grants technical representative of the Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota Fair Housing Assistance Programs.

Kim earned her B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL and her J.D. from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL and is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
